Dean Batten

Dean C. Batten passed away in Billings, Montana. Son of Elmer J. and Lela M. Batten, born September 1, 1952 in Billings. Dean went to school here and graduated in 1970 from Billings West High. He then entered the US Armed Forces in 1970: Ft. Lewis and Ft. Rucker. He arrived in Vietnam on January 4, 1971, survived as a Dust-off Crew Chief- helicopter air ambulance with the 247th Med Dep. III Corp. S Vietnams. Left in December 1971 in route to Fr. Jacobson S.C with discharge. Dean then worked on drilling rigs in Wyoming and Texas, then in 1974 worked mainly in construction as a carpenter. He married Julie Anderson in 1976 and was widowed in 1978. Later he married Beth Ann Cleasby in April 1991. Dean is survived by 3 stepsons, 7 grandsons, and three grand daughters and great grandson and great granddaughters. Life member of DAV and Life Member of VOA. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter KimCleasby Beeler, and Karrie Cleasby, Wife Beth Ann Batton and Brother Ray Batten. Funeral Service at Faith Chapel, Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment will be Sunset Memorial Gardens.
