Thomas Louk

Thomas Edward “Ed” Louk passed away on November 7, 2020. He was born February 8, 1935 in Crow Agency, Montana to Florence Beall Louk and John Earl Louk. He spent his early years in Hardin and Billings and attended area elementary schools, Lincoln Junior High and Senior High School. After graduation he joined the Navy where he was able to travel to Japan and be stationed in Alaska. After the Navy, he returned to Billings where he held different jobs before starting work as a wholesale veterinarian supplier from 1970 – 1993, then to Western Ranch Supply from which he retired. After Ed's daughter left home in 1988, Ed missed having kids in the house, so he went to work at McDonald's part time where he worked until his retirement in 2017. His true occupation love was horse racing in many different roles. Ed met Joan Redding in December 1962, he knew he met the perfect person and proposed just a few days later. They were married in Red Lodge, MT on February 16, 1963. Their marriage was solemnized June 1, 1968 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Ed is survived by his daughter Tomisue Louk (Kevin Wilkinson) Tooele UT; two Step Grandsons (Bo and Brek Wilkinson), cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. Family was the upmost importance to Ed and he supported them all in what they did. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Joan, brother John Beall Louk and sister Harriett Louk Frank. Ed had several hobbies and interests including Family History, Navy, rodeo and horse racing. He also had several collections including books, Painted Ponies, Matchbox cars, McDonald's memorabilia and Happy Meal toys (if you bring kids to the house, your kids were leaving with McDonald's toys). Ed made friends wherever he went and valued those friendships. He was the “go to” guy for secrets and advice and sometimes just to listen while you worked it out in your mind. A visitation will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel Friday, November 13, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints meeting house at 912 Wicks Lane, Billings, MT with interment at Mountview Cemetery. In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and masks will required at the visitation and services. Services will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/XpKU4wJgL1Y. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
