Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alvina Elizabeth Herauf. Alvina was a loving, caring and devoted Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and Friend to all whose lives she touched. Alvina left us to be with the Lord and her loved ones in Heaven on November 24, 2020. Alvina was born in Dickinson, North Dakota on February 13, 1950 to Jerome "Harry" Heidt and Elizabeth (Kuntz) Heidt. Alvina lived most of her younger years growing up on the family farm until moving to Dickinson, North Dakota. While living in Dickinson, Alvina met the love of her life Ron Herauf. Ron and Alvina were married in October of 1970 and remained married until Alvina passed to her eternal home in the sky. Alvina and Ron moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota where Alvina started a career with the telephone company. Alvina, loving the career path she chose, decided to follow the telephone company to Billings, Montana and to Boise, Idaho each time the company relocated, until she retired in 2006. After retirement, Alvina and Ron decided to move back to Billings to spend the remainder of their years in the state they love. Everywhere Alvina moved she made such an impact on everyone's life. Alvina was the most caring, loving, nonjudgmental and amazing person in the world. Everyone who met Aunty, called her Aunty. Alvina had a heart of gold and will forever be missed. Alvina and Ron did not have any children of their own, but they helped rear some of their nieces and nephews and great nieces. Keonna, Linzzi and Adriana were Alvina's great nieces and Alvina loved these three girls with every breath inside of her. Alvina is survived by her husband Ron Herauf of Billings; brothers David Heidt (Cindy Dvorak) and Melvin Heidt of Dickinson, North Dakota, Dennis Heidt (Amy Reimche) of Billings; sisters Shirley (David) Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas, Jackie (Ron) Schlinger of Mandan, North Dakota, Elaine Novotny of Dickinson, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Alvina is preceded in death by her parents Jerome "Harry" Heidt and Elizabeth Heidt; brother Jerry Heidt; sister-in-law Diane Heidt; brothers-in-law Earl Novotny and Wayne Stroh; and niece Shelle Butschek. We love you Aunty and you will forever remain in our hearts.

Ron and Family. Sorry to hear about your loss. Alvina was a gem. I have a lot of great memories from when you lived in Aberdeen. You and Alvina were like second parents to us. We were just laughing the other day about driving my hot cycle through the fresh concrete. You laughed about it. All the times there was garden pizza and beer in the new garage. Alvina did have a heart of gold and no matter how long it had been since we talk it was like you two had left Aberdeen yesterday. Prayers. Love Scott Eisenbeisz and family.

Only known a short time but we bonded like we known each other forever. She treated me like family and was always the sweetest. I value and appreciate the time I was able to have with you. You will always be aunty to me . Rest well I know heaven is great.

Ron, sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews and friends, sorry to hear of your loss, she still had that great smile as I remember her from way back in the early 70's. May she rest in peace in God's hands, and may you all keep those fond memories of her in your heart.
