Olive Yarlott

[Olive Lavera Williamson Yarlott, 72, of Crow Agency, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 28, 2020. Olive and her twin brother Oliver were born in Crow Agency on March 22, 1948 to Dexter Hub Williamson and Lorraine Morrison. At an early age, Olive was adopted by Eugen and Maude Yarlott. She grew up in the Benteen area and was educated in Lodge Grass. Olive was a member of the Piegan Clan, and child of the Big Lodge. She worked various jobs and was also a caregiver. Olive married James Joseph Buffalo, Sr. and the union brought them Joseph, Jr., John, Ella and Elmer. They later divorced. In 1974 she married Curtis Knows the Ground and together they lived in the St. Xavier area until their divorce. Olive gave her heart to the Lord at an early age. She traveled for the Lord with her sisters. She loved singing for the Lord and was often asked to share her voice. Olive was able to translate the Bible into sign language. During her hospital stay, Olive had a vision: Jesus came, escorted by His angels, to her room. Jesus was speaking to her, reassuring her that it was going to be okay. Angels touched where she was hurting. They stayed with her for awhile, protecting her room. This vision left Olive feeling full of peace, comfort, and assurance. Olive was preceded in death by her twin Oliver; her son OJ; her parents; her daughter Ella; son Joseph, Jr.; great-granddaughter Renae; sisters Maude Williamson, Anne Rose Cashen, Charlotte Spotted Horse, Elsie Leider, Ada Horn, Linda Ten Bear, Victoria Crooked Arm; brothers Garland, Oliver, Melvin, Virgil Williamson, Chuck Yarlott, Franklin Red Wolf; aunts Mary Carpenter, Gloria Medicine Crow, Ethel Not Afraid; uncles Alvin, Tom, Art Morrison.
