Sheila Diane Jefferson-Wallace, 56, of Lodge Grass, MT went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2020 while in the Billings Clinic. Sheila was a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan and a child of the Ties the Bundle Clan. Chiiwakii balaxiish “Singing Holy Songs” a name given to her by her clan aunt Carol Bulltail. She was born October 15, 1964 in Crow Agency, MT to Raymond Sr. and Ione Healy Jefferson. She was raised in Lodge Grass, MT all her life. She attended schools at Lodge Grass Elementary, Flandreau Indian School, in Flandreau, SD and graduating from Lodge Grass High School in 1985. She worked for numerous home care agencies throughout the years as a personal care assistant, and general manager at McCormick IGA in Lodge Grass, MT, and finally retiring in 2011. As Sheila would say, she married “her stoned love,” Russell D. Wallace in 1998 in Sheridan, WY. The couple made their home and raised their children in Lodge Grass. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church, who looked to her bible for guidance. She enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews participate in sports and attended many events as she could. She was an avid Lodge Grass Indians fan. More recently, she was so proud of Jordan Lei for making varsity as a freshman and followed her as much as she could. She was really looking forward to watching her grandchildren participate in sports. She enjoyed watching “Medea” movies and would often quote them. She had a marvelous sense of humor and had a fast come back. She also enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart on the Sun life Broadcasting Network. She was oh so proud of her Edson Ray for getting his Master's Degree and wanted him to go on to get his doctorates so we could have our own “Dr. J” in the family. Her most proudest moment was becoming a grandmother to her Jayden Bradley. She loved him so much that she raised him as her own and adopted him. He was her pride and joy and made sure everyone knew it. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Sr. and Ione Jefferson; Grandparents, Mary and Lester Carpenter Sr.; her brothers Larry Dean and Jeffery Sr., Calvin Jr., Bernard Sr.; Uncles Charles, Benedict, Lester Jr., Warren Sr., Calvin Sr., Wesley Sr. Jefferson, Larry Little Owl Sr., Brian Renville. Sisters Delinda Jefferson, Verena Costa and Leann Old Bull. Aunts, Starr Stops and Judith Big Lake. Nephew Victor “Fitty” Nomee Jr. Grandchildren Heaven Malebear Stone and Angel Jefferson Lafrance. Best friend Don Medicine Crow. Survivors include her husband of 30+ years, her children Louie (Chrystal), RayeDawn (Eyon), Vivica Beads, and Jayden Bradley. Brothers Dave (Lilly), Raymond Jr., Thomas Sr. (Tracy), Arnold (Coretta), Cyrus (Annie) Leider Sr., Chipper (Janet) Fitzpatrick, George Pretty Weasel, Darren (Shelly) Chargers Strong, Darren and Ricky Renville, Mike (Rita) Stops, Ronnie (Betty) Big Lake, Warren Jr., Larry Jr, Larney, and Soloman Little Owl. Sisters Judy, Fray (Carlos) Nomee, Junetta (Donald) Gardner, Leda (Everdean) Good Luck, Letha (Dan) Gun Shows, Denise Nomee, Evelyn Jefferson, Dorothy North Piegan, Rebecca Stovall, Lydia (Dean) Hill, and Jennifer Jefferson, Tina (Comrad) Alden, Clemencia Stops, Lavonna Real Bird, and Reva Not Afraid, Emma Richardson. A very special sister-in-law Josie Wallace. Aunts Connie (Bruce) Russell, Melissa (Sonny) Falls Down Jr., Carol Renville and Laura Pickett. She was cherished by all her nieces and nephews and was affectionately known by them as “Mama Sheila,” Missy (Clint), Jeff Jr. (Amica), Azurene Ione, Larry Dean, Ricky (Talista), Casirae (Dion), Cowboy, Carol (Gavi), Dave (Stephanie) III, Megan, Sonny Bono, TJay, Edson Ray, Clyde (Lanita), Tia (Josiah), Tommi Ann, Tawny Rae, Tomcho, Elisha, Shekinah, Kidd, Cameron, Amber Cummins, Marisol, Dea Goodluck, Marina, Wilbur, Solon, Yvonna, Autumn, Darren Jr., Carl Curtis (Jill), Kristin (Daniel), Nathan (Amy), Sonny Leider, Diane Charette, Danelle Fitzpatrick, Danetta Takes Enemy, Daniel Takes Enemy Jr., Connie, Teddy, Lyndzee. She cherished her grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as “Kaale Bones,” Isaiah, J-Lei, Kamber, Baby Raymond, Xavier, Tauren, Chanel, Nehemiah, Champ Dion, Bi'aitche, Lebron, Lola, Bam, Tirzah, Baby Hawk, Audrina, Jessa, Harold IV, Riggin, Azriel, Dave IV, Isabella, Justin, Jadyss, Jude, Onie, Koda, Skyler, Kendall, Kayoe, Ethan, Cailei, Caiden, Caison, Lacey, Caleb, Kegan, Percy, Dansby, Vanetta, Theodore III, Burgess, Martha, Eneah, Mila, Dreshon, Sandra, Patricia, Richard, Darell, and Issac Stovall. Adopted children Wendy Little Light and Mariah Big Head. Adopted sisters Sandy Bird-Ward, Laura Hedoesit, Roanna Gets Down, Brenda and Becky Graham, Barbara (Willie) Gardner, Sherri (Clinton) House. We would like to acknowledge the numerous relatives, family, friends, and colleagues who knew and had a special relationship with Sheila, as well as her extended family including the Jefferson, Fire Bear, Carpenter, Costa, Hunts the Arrow, LaForge, Little Owl, Goes Ahead, Charges Strong, Pickett, Bear Below, Moccasin, Cummins, Real Bird, Goes Ahead, Enick, Healy, Allen, Wing, Talks Different, Helgason, Dragon Fly, Renville, Ohlerking, Cliff, Calf Robe, Bull Shield, Small Eyes, Birdrattler, Russell, and Crazy Boy. Our family is very large if we have forgotten anyone please accept our apology. Gravesite services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Lodge Grass, MT. Dahl Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. We ask that you continue to practice standard CDC guidelines such as refraining from handshakes, proper mask wearing, and social distancing.
