Jean Kiedrowski

Jean Kiedrowski, passed on December 13, 2020. She was born Jean Ann Stevens in Aberdeen, South Dakota on April 5, 1931, the youngest child of Clarence and Anna Stevens. In 1936, at the height of the Great Depression, her family left South Dakota and migrated west in search of a better life. They settled in Red Lodge, MT, where Jean grew up. She loved Red Lodge, her adopted hometown, and didn't leave until she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Kiedrowski of Laurel, MT in 1950. After Jim's stint in the Air Force, he and Jean settled in Billings and raised a family. Jim worked as a salesman and Jean rode roughshod over 4 active kids as a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed hobbies such as square dance, ceramics, and reading. She was active in the Catholic Church, both at Holy Rosary when the kids were young, and later at St. Thomas. Jean had an uncanny faculty for remembering almost everyone and everything from her childhood on. Her memory of life in Red Lodge, in great detail, was truly amazing. Over the last several years she had been writing these memories down with the dream of publishing an autobiography. She was the undisputed family historian. Jean was preceded in death by her first born daughter, Jamie, who died in infancy, her dear husband, Jim, her brothers, Byron and Merle, and sisters, Irma and Carmen. Jean leaves 4 children; sons, Kim of Orange, CA and Kraig of Cibolo, TX and daughters, Jodee of Billings and Jennifer of Everett, WA, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank TenderNest, Dr. Ed Malters and Compassus Hospice for all the wonderful care our Mother received from them. A service will be held on at 11 a.m. on Monday October 4th, 2021 at Laurel Cemetery, Laurel, Montana.
