I met Chris when I came to work as the director of Music here at St. Bernard's church in 2012. She immediately made me feel a part of this parish and a part of her inner circle. My husband was vegan at the time, and I was struggling to cook vegan. Chris took me under her wing and started helping em out with cooking vegan foods. She was an amazing cook and an amazing friend. She was there for me during my husband's accident, where he broke his neck. Most importantly, she was there when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October. She was so positive about her treatment. I had the same oncologist, which we would joke about having the right first name! The last time I spoke to her was right before Christmas. She just said... this is soooo kicking my butt. Chris will be missed dearly!

We are saddened to learn of the death of Chris. We were surprised to learn this on this website. This social distancing is surely hurting our social life. Chris was a good lady, sticking to her beliefs, no matter what. We didn't always agree but she was sure she was right. We will miss seeing Chris at church and listening to our wonderful choir of whom she was a part. Tom, and family, we send our sympathy and our prayers. Always in Christ, Bitsy and Harry Merchant

Sending our deepest condolences to all of your family on the passing of this amazing person and light for her family, and for all those she nurtured. What a blessing to have left this world a better place for her being in it. Thinking of you all and wishing you comfort in this very sad time. Moira and Neil Solomon (Jesse Solomon's parents, and parents-in-law of her loving nephew, Jay Purcell.)
