Chester Limberhand, 73, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Chet was born on June 13, 1947 in Crow Agency, MT to Bennie Limberhand and Cecelia Medicine Elk. Chet grew up in Lame Deer. He attended St. Labre Indian School and graduated from Colstrip High School. Chet graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy in Roswell, NM and worked as a police officer in the Northern Cheyenne Police Department for many years. He later went to work for Owens Corning, Montana Power Plant and the YMCA. Chet was preceded in death by his parents Bennie Limberhand and Cecilia Medicine Elk; siblings: Herman Limberhand, Ben Limberhand, Lillian Limberhand, Elizabeth Limberhand; and wife Trisha Limberhand. Surviving siblings: Rosalie Tallbull, Dennis (Kay) Limberhand, Joyce Knowshisgun, Maynard (Ursula) Limberhand, Doris Limberhand, Grover Lee Whiteman, Gary Lightening, Rynalea Whiteman-Pena; children: Tammy (Mark) Roundstone, Emily (Dale) Limberhand, Scott (Erica) Limberhand, Tim (Shayla) Mascarena and Chester Limberhand; uncle Oscar Kinzel. Grandkids: Virgil, Spur, Rueben, Tamika, Dakota, Tia, Ben, Zoey, Bella, Sophia, Laila; great grandkids: Michael, Emily, Rose, Gretchen, Micah, Virgil Jr, Joseph, Germaine, Amelia, Gabriel, Izaya, Yesenia, Aiyissa, Omar, Maniah, Spur Jr, Payton, Rueben Jr, Alison, Arianna. Pop was a kind, modest and quiet man. He was a gifted high school athlete and loved to play slow pitch softball, fast pitch softball, and golf. He was a family man that would do anything for his wife, kids and especially grandkids. There will be a graveside service Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1601Mullowney Ln.

I knew your Dad at Colstrip High. He hung with Russ Waples and Russ liked my sister, Toy. They spent a lot of time at our ranch on the Tongue River. We challenged ourselves to get him to talk, have a drink, something to eat. We never won. He was the quietest, sweetest guy, I've ever known. That smile of his is unforgettable. I wish I had known he lived here, I would have made a point to say hi. I watched the video and it looks like you all had a lot of good times. I'm so glad. He was a special guy. My heart is with you all. Rosalie, Joyce, Denise, Maynard, Doris and my adopted daughter Rennie. His children Tammy, Emma and Scott. If I left anyone out for give me. I first met Chester in 1973 when I baby sat Scott and Jodi shows. Now they Chester and nathel are gone to live with Jesus for all eternity.

Watching the video reminded me of many memories of Chet. I smiled a lot and sang. Chet was a very handsome quiet devil; he was always so much fun and so unassuming. One of my favorite memories is of him coaching my sons' basketball games.

I had the pleasure of working with Chet at Reporter Printing in Billings. He was an excellent pressman, took great pride in his work. Always treated you with a smile. Kind gentle man. Rest in peace my friend. Dean Stevenson
