Obituary

Montana Sunrising (aka Floyd Morrison) went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born September 26, 1950 to Arthur Floyd Morrison and Genevieve (Driftwood) Morrison. He received his education at Lodge Grass and Hardin schools. He was known as an evangelist since 1973 and travelled throughout the U.S. and Canada sharing the gospel of Christ. Montana referred to himself as a “Jesus Man” and knew how to quote scriptures like a walking Bible. Montana Sunrising was an apt, tactful, diligent, and adventurous, outgoing, benevolent, youthful man who spread love, laughter, and sunshine wherever he went. Montana had a personality that sparkled like the ocean on a sunny day! He always made an effort to make someone smile and encouraged them to live life to the fullest. He brought light into darkness, and if he'd happen to offend someone he was quick to give them a gift and a hug. He was always full of faith, hope, and joy. He was dedicated to a life of prayer and would often fast alone in the mountains and hills for his family and friends. Montana was eloquent in both the Crow and English languages. It didn't matter what a person's status was, he would treat them all like royalty! Montana lost his parents in his mid-teens. In 1998 God gave him a new mother, Jean Piaso who adopted him as her son. The Yarlott family also took him in and raised him as their own. His parents; daughter, Jennifer Morrison; and sister, Alta Birdinground preceded him in death. His living children are: Miriam, Angel, Sam Bonko, Ashley, Dakota, Blue Star, and Victoria. Other survivors include his sister, Crystal Morrison and her children Esther, Candace, Sylvester III, David, Gloria, and Christopher. Extended families include: The Morrisons, Yarlotts, Carpenters, Driftwoods, and the Rock Above family; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, adopted brothers, sisters, grandchildren; and his dear friends: Sherry, Sharon, Dawn, Alex, Violet & Essence, and a special friend he fondly referred to as “Chief Doc”. We apologize if your name was left out, this was not intentional. Please forgive us during this time of our heavy grief.

I met Montana on a train and that was the first and last I ever saw of him, yet I often think of him. I searched his name and am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a perfect gentleman with a beautiful energy. I often wish to meet someone else like him in this world. Much love to him and his family and those who were touched by his spirit.

Dad i miss you so much, I miss the days that I would pick up the phone and call you just to hear your voice and your prayers. When i had days where I was feeling down or just had a rough day, you and your prayers was like a instant cure for me. After our conversations were over and we'd hang up, I ALWAYS felt so much lighter ( if you well ). Im having more of those days now and it hurts because I can't pick up the phone to call you or my mom ( I know you both are looking down on me ) just to hear your prayers. Dad i love and miss you sooo much let mom know i love and miss her too.
