Kane Streitz

Obituary
Our beloved son Kane James Streitz was born to Heather Starr and James Streitz on September 16, 2001 in Billings, MT. Kane was tragically taken from us and called to his eternal home on January 23, 2021 at the tender age of 19. Kane was a very active child and ran everywhere he went. Although knowing the consequences, it did not stop him from climbing and jumping, which made him a fearless child. Kane attended Beartooth and Orchard Elementary Schools where he showed just how active he was. He was involved in many after school programs. He attended Riverside Middle School for two years. After graduating 8th Grade, Kane attended West High School. For many years of his childhood, Kane was a member of the Wayman Chapel AME Church where he served as a youth usher and sang with the youth choir. In 2014, the family joined All Nations Christian Fellowship Church. Kane picked up right where he left off and continued to usher and sing. At a very young age Kane always wanted to learn more about God. He always called on the man he knew as his dad, Elder Tracy Starr. These are the years that Kane learned about R&B and gospel music, singing songs by Motown that his friends knew nothing about. Kane shared what was in his heart with everyone he came into contact with. His touch reached so many from all walks of life. He was the person who looked past all of your issues and befriended you anyway. He was always willing to stop what he was doing to help his friends and everyone who needed help. When Kane was just becoming a teenager, he met John Geiger with Younglife, a community based organization and church group. It was there that Kane met Drew and wife Kaylee, two people that he was very close to. So many different mentors became very important in Kane's life. We want to thank them for everything they have done for all of us. Camping, hiking, swimming, bikes, cars and traveling became a way of life for Kane. He traveled to many states with his “travel buddy” Uncle Bryan. Kane loved to do things that others would not; he was always a “free spirit”. Kane had many different jobs in his short time here on earth. Two of his favorites were Western Sugar, and FedEx at the airport. He was always worried about making money and paying bills, or that he would spend it before he got it. Kane would get bored or easily distracted, so he would always be looking for new employment. He was recently rehired at Winco and was very excited that he was going to be working with his younger brother, Caden. Sadly, that day never came. Kane was a dedicated Baltimore Ravens fan . . . how this happened we will never know because the rest of the house are all Chiefs fans . . . Go Chiefs! At the age of 18, Kane was so excited to get his driver's license that he studied day and night. When he was ready, off he went. He was more excited about making the decision to be an organ donor than he was about passing his test and getting his license. One more selfless act on Kane's part. Of all the contributions we witnessed him make in his life, he was still prepared to bless others, even in death. Kane was preceded in death by his grandpa William Peabody. He is survived by his parents: Heather and Tracy Starr, and James (Jennifer) Streitz; grandparents: Bebe Peabody, Mike and Lorraine Boyd; brothers: Terry, Austin, Caden, Trey, Ax, and Dominique; sisters: Julianna, Yazmine, Ariella, Nevaeh, Cassandra, Clarrisa, and Maliah; aunt Holly; uncles: Chris, Bryan, Ron, and Derek; three very special cousins: Kevin, Jenessa, and Mia; girlfriend Kassie Meyer, who always had a special place in Kane's heart; and so many other family members and close friends that we couldn't name them all. We, the family, would like to extend our deepest heartfelt gratitude to the BPD, EMT's, the entire staff of St. Vincent's ICU team, and Life Center Northwest (Lisa and Alli). We are all grateful for all of you.
