Juanita Solis

Juanita Rose Solis (Road Women), 69, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021 at Advanced Healthcare in Billings, MT, surrounded by family, Juanita was born on November 12, 1951 in Sheridan, WY. Juanita was a loving mother, sister and daughter. She was an amazing friend and the best grandmother anyone could ask for. Juanita's main love in life were her children and grandchildren. Juanita was the fifth of thirteen children born to Joseph G. Solis and Annie J. Little Mouth. She grew up in Sheridan, WY and attended and graduated from Sheridan High School. She met and married Ira Left Hand, Sr. and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass, MT. To this union three children were born: Ira, Jr., Jennifer and Nicole. She later divorced and met Gus Old Bear, Jr., and to this union were born two children: Josephine and Joseph. Juanita was a homemaker. She also cared for many children along the way who later became like her own. You could always find her behind her sewing machine working on her various projects. She was well known in the community of Lodge Grass and always greeted and visited with many people. You could always find her at a family function or at a pow wow watching her favorite dancer and grandson Al Spotted. She would always support her children and family who participated in the Sundance Ceremony. She would always be first to try and pitch her camp. She was an avid church goer. Both with the Native American and the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Lodge Grass. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Josephine; siblings: Delores, Joseph, Jr., Ernest Little Mouth, Philomina American Horse; nephew: Ron Big Lake, Jr.; niece Dawn C. Castro; granddaughter: Danni Rose; companion: Myron High Bull. Surviving are her brothers: Carlos, Gilbert (Vangie), John, Jeff, Steve Solis; her sisters: Rosita (LeRoy) Detavinier, Jolene (Ron) Ekis, Leah (Darren) Bixby, Betty (Ron) Big Lake, Mary Solis. Also surviving are her children: Ira, Jr., Jennifer (Kenny Jo) Spotted, Nicole (Delano) Falls Down, Josephine (Courdell) French, and Joseph; her adopted children: Matt (Kari) Stops and Fawnshay Rowland, Harley Mathew, Edward Red Wolf, Seth Old Bull and Solie Good Luck. And her many grandchildren whom she loved so very much: DJ, Rooster, Jayden, Brooklyn, Johnny, Jacob, K'lei, Kalyssa, Joshua, Chazz, Alberto, Kole Jon, Kennan, Joely K, Dean, K'Ira, Lillian and Courdell, Jr. and her one and only great-grandchild: Kashton King John. Extended family includes: Little Mouth, Grey, Little Head, White Wolf, Seminoles, Castros, Solis.
