Obituary
Kathryn “Kay” Sarah (Jones) Matusiak, 69, of Billings passed away on February 14, 2021. Kay was the perfect wife and mother. She was as sweet as they come and always found a reason to smile. Born in Kewanee, IL on January 5, 1952 to Keith and Betty Jones. Soon after, Kay moved to Geneseo, IL where she was raised with her three brothers: Thomas, David, and Gregory. She attended nursing school in Peoria, IL. There she met the love of her life, Richard Matusiak. Kay and Rick were married May 18, 1974 and later welcomed three daughters London (Iain McGregor), Ashleigh (Brandon Roberts) and Heather (Michael Castillo). They moved to Billings, MT November of 1981 and into their Heights home of nearly 40 years. Kay worked as an RN for the Billings Clinic for 30 years, most time spent answering medical questions at the Healthline. In 2010, Kay was blessed to become a grandma, the role she may have done best, and leaves behind five grandchildren who loved and adored her: Leah, Kendall, Tessa (Ashleigh), James (step son to London), and Cora (Heather). Kay slowly began leaving us long ago with the onset of dementia; yet, her kindness and love always remained. On Valentine's Day with Rick, her love of 50 years by her side, the rest of Kay left us too. A celebration of life is planned at a later date allowing family to come celebrate a life well lived.

So sorry to hear of Kay's passing. She was always fun to visit with at the many office events and a great host for summer picnics. She always made everyone feel welcome. Even when she was starting to fade, her smile and kindness never did. Rick & all the family are in my thoughts and prayers.
