Lemuel Chesmore

Lemuel Charles Chesmore born on January 9th 1971. First born, to Calvin and Violet (Lindau) Chesmore in Billings, MT Later came sister Linda Chesmore in January of 1974. Growing up, Lem and Linda were the best of friends. They had a special bond that included going to school together, sharing friends, and even sharing punishments when one got in trouble. Lem had got in trouble and the family had to move to Billings, MT from Columbus, MT. Lem moved to Billings in 6th grade and attended Garfield Elementary. Lem enjoyed playing football, baseball, and his most loved sport was boxing. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. If he wasn't fighting in the ring, he was on the side cheering people on or in the corner helping his fellow teammates. Lem attended Senior High School where he met the love of his life Darlas (Owen) Chesmore in 1986. They soon welcomed their first-born son Matthew in 1987. Soon after came their first daughter Ashley in 1989, then Michael in 1990, Mark in 1999, Mitchell in 1993, Mason in 1994, Morgan 1997, Alyssa, in 1998, and finally completed their family in 1999 with Mackenzie. While creating his family he worked and supported them by working different jobs. He was a jack of all trades. He worked towing vehicles, at the sugar beet factory, helping customers and volunteered his time at the boxing gym. Every Thursday night you could find him at the Babcock volunteering his time and refereeing the boxing fights. One of Linda's favorite memories was when Lem took her to Rocky 4 at the Babcock theater. Darlas has many memories of her favorite pastimes with Lem. One of her favorite memories is when they got caught by the police in the park late at night having a good time after sneaking out of their childhood homes. All of the kids have many stories and memories of growing up with their dad. Some of those memories include going to Jose's house to watch the boxing fights on 5 different TVs. Going to Kansas for Mark's first boxing national silver gloves competition. The smile on his face the days Morgan would give him a ride in his truck. Lem didn't think Morgan would ever drive a ford, but he showed him different. Alyssa and Lem doing late night homework together to finish High School. He enjoyed watching movies with the family. His favorite movies include all the Rocky movies, Price of glory, Million Dollar Baby, and just about any other movie that involved boxing. Two of his favorite quotes were “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” from Ali, and “Everyone's got a plan until you get hit in the mouth.” from Mike Tyson. Lem is proceeded in death by both of his parents Calvin Chesmore, and mother Violet (Lindeau) Chesmore. He is survived by, his wife Darlas (Owen) Chesmore His 9 children all from Billings, Matthew (Crystal), Ashley, Michael, Mark (Tanya), Mitchell, Mason, Morgan (Amanda), Alyssa, and Makenzie. 15 grandchildren DJ, Damion, Kloey, Cameron, Braxten, and Paytyn, Dominik, Malachi, and Carmen, Hector, and Taige, Elias, Adalynn, and Paisley, Anastasia, his sister Linda Chesmore (Mitch), Niece Autumn, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Please join us in celebrating his life on August 13th 2021 at 10A.M. at Guadalupe Church at 523 South 29th St. Billings, MT 59101 and a dinner afterwards from 5PM to 10PM at Hawthorne Park at 1752 Columbine Dr. Billings, MT 59105.
