Phillip Angel

Born March 12, 1938 to Santiago Jose Angel and Sarah Luna Angel. Phil was the 2nd born of 10 siblings, the eldest son. He was born and raised in Sidney, MT. Phil played the clarinet in Highschool and his musical talent followed him into his adulthood. He went on to Kinman Business University before joining the Marines. Phil's military tour took him to Hawaii where he was involved in music and became the general's right hand man. He had an Honorable Discharge and continued his education after his tour of duty at Eastern Montana College. Phil married Karen Middleton on 11 November ( Veterans Day) 1971 and the parents of 6 children - Anna Marie, Scott, John, Charles, Kristina and Rohn. Phil worked for Job Service for almost 8 years. He and his wife opened a wedding and catering business "Angel's Wedding and Reception," and catered many venues in Billings. As the children grew, Phil was involved in many activities with his kids, such as sports (soccer), scouting, and music. He had an uncanny artistic ability in music, art, and writing. Phil spent many years volunteering his time with the Billings Community Band, Alberta Bair Theater, The Moss Mansion, The Shriner's, and Scottish Rite. After Phil retired, he spent the majority of his time volunteering his musical talents, playing the piano at the hospital, playing the organ/piano for various local groups he was affiliated with. He spent lots of his time with his grandkids. Picking them up and caring for them after school, "Dollar Store, Library and Jump Park Adventures." Phil Angel loved his family and dear friends. He was a hard worker, dedicating lots of time and energy into the music he loved and the country that gave him so much. He definitely had his own way of doing things and his unique personality drove him to always be the best. Phil went back to his Heavenly Father on September 1st and was an active LDS member. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jessica and Lucy, his brother Tom and his daughter Anna Marie.
