Obituary
Allysa's Story Allysa Janelle Sym was born on January 12, 1995 in Lawton, Oklahoma at Fort Sill Military Base to Patricia Braswell McKay and Jeremy Sym. She was 26 years young when she went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2021 in Billings, Montana. Allysa was a part of a big family, full of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and a very loving mother. Allysa and Gregg Markley had their daughter, Lilian Rae, on February 16, 2018. The two remained close friends as they continued to raise their daughter. Roles as Mother and Daughter Allysa saw herself first and foremost as a mother to Lilian. Her highest calling was to raise Lily in the love of the Lord. As a single-mother, she worked hard to take care of her daughter, providing Lily with a happy home to live in. Her best friend was her mom, Patricia, who lived down the street. Patricia, Allysa, and Lily were three peas in a pod. They laughed together, they worshipped together, and they loved together. Allysa adored her family and always took care of those she loved. Talents Allysa was very talented. She loved to sing, draw, and paint. Even though she couldn't hear out of her right ear, it never stopped her from making a joyful noise. She had a beautiful voice and taught herself how to play the guitar and ukulele. Uniqueness Allysa often said “Be a unicorn”, and she lived it out. She had a style all her own. It was reflected in the way she wore her clothes, the way she kept her home, and the way she did her makeup, but most of all it was reflected in her character. Allysa was a true beauty both inside and out and had a way of making others feel the same. She was the coolest dork ever, a total goofball. Allysa always made herself laugh, whether you were laughing with her or not. Friendships Allysa could make friends with anyone, and she did. She had friends from all walks of life, and was loyal and faithful to them all, reflecting Christ in the way she loved others unconditionally. She was full of love, kindness, generosity and grace. Allysa always left people better off than she found them. Allysa's Faith Allysa loved Jesus. She was always thrilled and excited to share her faith with others. She was a true worshipper at heart, both in song and in the way she lived her life. Her strength and her joy came from her faith, as was evident to all who knew her. No matter what life threw at her, she handled it with grace and dignity. Those who loved Allysa knew her as embodying the Proverbs 31 woman, “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future.”
