This great man made a difference in my life and in the lives of so many. He inspired me. He was so passionate about what he loved and what he taught. What an inspiration. God bless you, dear Sir. I'll see you, on the other side.

My husband, Mark and I, were blessed to have Norm for several classes while we attended EMC to obtain our biology degrees. There will never be another like Norm; he is a one-of-a-kind. When you went out in the field with Norm, it was always an adventure! I appreciate his many visits when I worked for Parks and Rec. to borrow forestry equipment. I still hear his greeting, “my dear!” Thanks for the memories Norm and for blessing this community with your knowledge, vision, and countless hours of hard work. How could we have been so lucky? -Laura and Mark Agar

Norm was the best science professor I ever had a EMC. His lectures and labs were filled with excitement, learning, fun, and joy. He lived his life to the fullest and I'm lucky to experience a small portion of it. What a character!

I was lucky enough to have Norm as a professor for several of my biology courses at EMC, including one of his trips to the Pacific Coast. He inspired my love of birdwatching. His legacy lives on in many of us who passed our knowledge on to thousands of students during our teaching careers. I am happy to have known him.

I remember Norm as one of my favorite Boy Scoutmasters. He was so fun to be around, laughed much, and gave me great memories. He was part of how I came to love the great outdoors. Condolences to the family, I’m glad I knew him.
