Obituary
Leah Lynn Big Hair was born on November 2, 1969 in Crow Agency, MT, to Lawrence Big Hair, Sr. and the late Ilean A. Hill Big Hair. Biache (Beautiful Woman) has crossed over to the other side camp. She was a member of the Greasy Mouth Clan and a Child of the Piegan Clan. Leah grew up in St. Xavier, MT. She graduated from Hardin High School in 1988. She went on to pursue her higher education at United Tribes Technical College, graduating in 1996 with an Associate in Medical Records. She enjoyed cooking, camping, beading, attending church and supporting family during athletic endeavors. Leah, loved her children deeply, they were her entire world! She enjoyed watching them dance Crowstyle and supporting them throughout their life adventures. Her love overflowed, as she treasured all of her nieces and nephews like her own. She was known as, “Kaala Leah” to all of her cherished grandchildren. Leah was the epitome of a humble woman, with a beautiful soul that was unmatched. She was a sweat lodge woman, in which she had the right to build and pour. She loved spending time with her children and going on daily strolls, their time to catch up on life. Leah had a special bond with all of her brothers and sisters, as they remained a tight-knit family. She was inseparable from her sisters; they were a fun-loving triplet, always sharing a laugh. Leah had a distinct chuckle that was contagious to all and a certain aura, so much so, that you enjoyed her presence. She was a very sociable person, always had encouraging words, and a smile. Her favorite bible verse was, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15. Those of us, who dearly loved Leah, knew what a wonderful woman she was to her family and countless friends. The loss of Leah is an unbreakable heartbreak; she truly left us too soon and will be missed by all the hearts she touched.
