Faye Wickham

Faye Lynne Wickham passed away unexpectedly on October 13th due to a short illness. Faye was born in Hunter, ND on May 20th, 1942. In 1961, she married Steve Wickham and in that union three children were born. Pamela Jane, Robert Sheldon (Bobby) and Jeffrey Kenneth. They started their life together in Williston, ND where Steve worked road construction. The construction business took them to Great Falls, MT and eventually Billings where they made their home. Faye was deeply devoted to her family. When her kids were young, she enjoyed helping them rodeo in the YRA and YCCA and eventually transitioned to supporting her sons in the BMC as well. Later, you would find her cheering in the stands (no matter the weather) at her grandchildren's baseball games, armed with a bag full of treats and sweets for all to enjoy. Faye was as good at baking as she was sweet herself. She always sent you home with muffins or banana bread after a visit. Her caramel rolls topped the list of the all time best. On a snow coach trip through Yellowstone years ago, she packed a picnic of her famous egg salad sandwiches for everyone and it was possibly the highlight of the trip! Each New Years Day she treated her family to delicious, homemade turkey pot pie to start off the new year. It was never about the food, Faye's gift was bringing people together and leaving them with full bellies and great memories. Last month Faye and Steve celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She never wasted an opportunity to tell a story of the old days and growing up on a farm, the adventures in life she had as a wife and mother or how proud she is of her family. The twinkle in her eye as she spoke said it all. She was full of love and kindness and she passed that on to all of us who adored her. Saying good bye is never easy but we are comforted knowing she is reunited after 34 years with her eldest son Bobby.
