Paula House

Paula M. House May 17, 1945, to October 30, 2021 Paula House was born in Bellingham, WA to Betty M. Warren on May 17, 1945. She was raised by her paternal grand parents Hattie Mae and Scott Swanger in the Pea Green community Near Delta, Colorado. Ms. House attended schools at Pea Green and Olathe. She attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO and Colorado University, Denver Center. She always used to say that she couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. However, she was a gifted pianist and organist. She served in many churches, giving back to God each Sunday while sitting on a narrow bench behind the keys of a Baldwin, a Roland, or a Steinway. She opened her home and her heart to so many people over the years. Her home was always safe and warm and there was usually a pizza in the oven and a cold Pepsi in the fridge. She always showed appreciation for the smallest of gift. You'd show up and she'd say, “pull up a couch.” She'd say “it's so good to see you” even if you were just there yesterday. There wasn't anything that you couldn't talk to her about. She was concerned for your well-being and always offered advice if you asked…or, at times, it came unsolicited. Ms. House is survived by son Albert and Sherry (wife) Martin of Kanawa, OK, daughter Shauna Uyleman of Phoenix, AZ, son Daniel Morrell of Billings, MT, son Jason and Jessie (wife) Morrell of Taylor ND. Grandchildren Maria Uyleman, Breckin Morrell, Lyla Morrell, Venice Morrell, Felicia Valencia, Stephanie Hogue, and great granddaughter Joslyn Sotelo. She is also survived by sisters Lannie Craig of Dodge City, KS and Grace Shepherd of Durango, CO. Ms. House was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Betty and Clarence Meserole, her grandparents Scott and Mae Swanger, Daughter Lora Hogue, Granddaughter Elizabeth Hogue, Grandson Anthony Uyleman, Granddaughter Jessica Uyleman, brother James Meserole, sister Juanita White and sister Barbara Ross. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center 195 W. Main Street Cedaredge, CO on Saturday November 27, 2021, at 3:00 pm.
