Obituary
Our beloved mother, Nita Weyler, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 4, 2021. She went to her heavenly home peacefully in her sleep in Billings, MT, succumbing to a brief but aggressive fight with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Juanita Louise Roberts, was born April 30, 1945, in Macon, GA. As a young girl, Nita lived a block from Mount Harmony Baptist Church. It was known to her friends and family early in her life that she was devoted to the Lord. She also had a special gift of friendship and serving others. Nita is remembered by many childhood friends as having a beautiful smile and sweet demeanor. As a young adult, she was a summer youth missionary, leading youth groups and singing in her church choir, traveling the northeast to spread God's love. After graduating from Tift College, she became a youth director for Appleton Group Home in Georgia. In 1971, upon his return from Vietnam, she married Hilmer Weyler in Georgia. They would spend the next 36 years together raising four children, living in California then Montana. Nita devoted herself to her children. Nita created a loving house and long-lasting family traditions. She always traveled near and far for her children's sporting events and would use her sewing talents, instilled by her mother, to hand make her children's clothing when they were young, including her daughter's formal dresses. As her children grew, she became a fierce advocate for neglected and abused children in Billings spending over 20 years as a social worker for the state of Montana. Her impact changed many young lives. Upon retirement in 2008, Nita spent more time in ministry. As a volunteer, she led weekly bible studies and many groups at Faith Chapel to counsel and comfort others. She also enjoyed time with her family, dear friends and had a deep love for her grandchildren. Those who knew her said she could make you feel comfortable and welcome with her warm smile and loving spirit. She also had a special talent of anticipating others' needs and giving the most thoughtful gifts. Nita was a committed child of God, a trustworthy and dedicated friend, a warmhearted, strong, and compassionate mother and a selfless and patient grandmother. Nita's heavenly welcoming committee include: Mary Louise Roberts, mother; Hershel Roberts, father; Gerald Roberts, brother and Nita's dear friend Deb Johnerson. Nita is survived by her children, Karen Massey (Darren Massey), Linda Jacobson (Brian Jacobson), David Weyler and Nancy Weyler; her grandchildren Darren Massey Jr., Kaitlyn Massey, Samuel Jacobson, Rawley Jacobson, Evelyn Weyler, Andrew Weyler and Theodore Weyler; former spouse, Hilmer Weyler (McKenzie Weyler) and Nita's nephew Brian Roberts (Brooke Roberts), and great nieces Molly Roberts and Megan Roberts. A special thanks to Billings Clinic and Riverstone Hospice House caregivers who Nita would make laugh with her sassy and witty comments while showing incredible strength and grace. The family appreciated the respect and patience all the caregivers provided during her short time with them. A celebration service will be held at 11am on Jan 22, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Lunch will be served after the celebration. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CASA of Yellowstone County (P.O. Box 688, Billings, MT 59103-0688) https://www.yellowstonecasa.org or Riverstone Hospice House (2230 Mission Way, Billings, MT 59102) https://riverstonehealth.org, in her honor. Condolences and Remembrances can be sent to Nancy Weyler ℅ Sharon Nolte at 2966 Spring Meadow Ct, Billings, MT 59102

I worked with Nita for many years at DFS. Her love for her children was always obvious. She was very proud of them. She was always friendly as a co worker and was missed once she retired. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I keep waiting for the phone to ring with a call from you Nita. It is so empty here without you. You were such a big part of my life for the last 5 years. You encouraged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone on more than a couple of occasions. It was truly an honor to be your friend and to help you the last few months as we talked about what meeting Jesus face to face would be like. You are so missed and so loved! Your memory will be with me forever! Sharon Nolte
