Darrell and Mary Golnitz, CSP class of 2971, were privileged to have Professor Robert Rickels design and make our wedding rings. On December 27, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of our vows at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Minneapolis on December 19. We give thanks to God for our treasured rings that symbolize our faith in God! Thank you Robert Rickels!

I have fond memories of Uncle Bob and Auntie Tomi. He was always so kind and love to teach us new things. I am sorry for your loss but happy for your lives together. John Pollard

I remember having a nice time visiting Bob and his family for a day a few years ago. That was the only time I met him in person and he was genuinely attentive and friendly. I also remember talking briefly a couple of times by telephone, he was very gentle and also patience with my accent :) I am sorry for your loss, he will be missed.

Uncle Robbie was the kindest, purest soul of them all. He truly made the world a better place. I used to love sitting in his lap while he read me stories, or while we just chatted or played. I chose to share a yellow candle because it is the color of happiness, which he embodied. Pure joy.

I learned of Prof. Rickels passing recently from the Concordia-St. Paul alumni news. He surely had a full and blessed life, and was a blessing to all around him. I do recall that he made "art appreciation" an interesting course at CSP in 1967-68. I don't find a "memorial page" for him on FindAGrave, and would create one, but need to know the disposition of his earthly remains. If cremation was performed, that fact is sufficient unless the cremains are interred in a cemetery or columbarium, otherwise, the cemetery of burial is needed. I inquired to Dahl Funeral Chapel but they have not replied. My e-mail address is covered.bridge.crouse@gmail.com Thank you. James R. Crouse, Fort Wayne IN
