Obituary
Victor “Curtis” Morning, Jr. “Dachiixiiseesh”-Does Not Stumble, passed on to him by his late uncle, Trask Little Light Jr., went on to his eternal home to rejoice forevermore with his beloved parents, and loved ones that have gone before him on February 11, 2022. Curtis was born May 9, 1957, in Crow Agency, MT, to Victor and Leona Little Light-Morning. He attended school in Lodge Grass and Billings Central. Curtis married Marilyn Hill in 1991, in Sheridan, Wy. They made their home in Biinaate (No Water). He was a member of the Pentecostal Church, a Peigan, and child of the Peigan. Curtis was a hard worker, and he was no stranger to manual labor. As a result, he developed skills and talents that made him an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator, construction worker, and coal miner. His strong work ethic enabled him to find employment with various construction companies and was part of the first employees to work at the Apsaalooke mine at a young age to help support his siblings upon the passing of their mother. He enlisted in the Armed Forces stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he served for four years and was honorably discharged. His Dad Victor Morning was an avid horseman and Curtis naturally followed his love for horses. At a young age, he would break feral horses along with his brother Thomas. His love and care for horses lasted throughout his life. His athletic abilities stood out and were noticed by the basketball Coach at Lodge Grass High School and as a freshman, he made it on Varsity. His brother Garfield was so proud of his outstanding talent as a ballplayer. He took him to live with him in Billings to attend Billings Central to play for the Rams. Garfield always made sure he wore the latest basketball shoes and wore the best dress clothes for his away games. He was small in stature which challenged and empowered him to play at a high caliber level.
