Arthur Christ

Arthur (Art) F. Christ passed away on May 27, 2026 of cancer,  at the age of 95.

Art was born in Great Falls, Montana on Feb. 14, 1931 to Charles Christ and Zelma (Faris) Christ. He was the second of three children. Ralph Christ, (deceased) and Lois Harness of Seattle, Washington.

He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1949 and joined the Montana Air National Guard and was activated in the fall of 1949  He served two years and got out of the service in 1952, and then went to work for Mountain Bell as a lineman in Havre, Mont. He worked for Mountain Bell for 34 years and retired as a supervisor in Helena, MT.

He married Lorraine Hetherington in Livingston, MT in 1958 and helped her raise her two children, Thelma and Lona. Lorraine passed away in 2012. They spent 54 years together.

He was married again in 2017 to Dorothy (Dotty) Schmidt. He moved to Billings and they resided there until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph and Thelma Norskog, Surviving him are his sister, Lois Harness of Seattle, Thelma’s children, Lorrie Biltoft of Clancy, MT, Michael of Frisco, TX.. and Marty of West Richland, WA, and Lona’s son, Jim Morehouse of Phillipsburg, MT. wife, Dotty of Billings, and many nieces and nephews. 

Cremation has taken place and burial of ashes will take place at 1:00 on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Mountview Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 3 o’clock at First Presbyterian Church, 2420 13th St. W. with a meal to follow.
