Obituary
Terence Lee Haan went home to be with his Savior at the age of 61 on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was surrounded by his family, at home, following a long and very painful battle with cancer and other ailments.
He was born on Christmas Day December 25, 1960, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and grew up on a farm outside of Lennox with his mother, father, sister, and brother. He attended country school, Chancellor Elementary, and Lennox High School graduating in 1979. He married his high school sweetheart, Tami Hempel on January 5, 1979. He went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Econ and Agri-Business from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota while starting his family. After graduating he became employed by Tractor Supply Company, moving his family throughout Minnesota and ultimately bringing them to Montana. Terry and Tami fell in love with Big Sky Country and decided to make Montana their home. His latest work was serving others as both a deacon and facilities manager at Rocky Mountain Community Church. He was privileged to work there for many years until he was unable to continue due to his declining health.
Terry was most known for his vibrant personality, bold tenor singing voice, his love of BBQ and smoking meat, taking motorcycle rides, listening to old country music, and being a do-it-all handyman helping many families and friends over the years.
He was a proud Opa of his thirteen grandchildren, a wonderful father of his five children, a devoted husband to his loving bride of 43 years, and a faithful servant of the Lord.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother Leona, his father Donald, his brother Loren, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife Tami, daughters Jennifer (Stephen) Paterson, Jessica (Scott) Felchle, Jacqueline (Colin) Gerstner, son Jacob (Bethany) Haan, foster son Blake Campos, grandchildren: Elijah Gerstner, Nathan Paterson, Luke Gerstner, Noah Felchle, Isaac Gerstner, Hope Gerstner, Henry Haan, Gabriel Felchle, Alice Paterson, Liam Haan, Benjamin Felchle, Brooklyn Haan, Baby Haan (due in October), sister Dr. Constance Haan, sister-in-law Gayle (Roger) Hanisch, sister-in-law Brenda (Loren) Haan, niece Samantha Haan, nephew Andrew Hanisch, nephew Alexander Hanisch,and many other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Riverstone Hospice for helping our family navigate his final days at home.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 11:00 am at Rocky Mountain Community Church.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Rocky Mountain Community Church or Riverstone Hospice.
