Obituary
Mom was born in Bridger, Montana on August 27, 1934 and passed away on June 22, 2026.
She was the second of twelve children born to Harry and Anna (Kroll) Peters. Her formative years and schooling were in Edgar, Bridger, Dry Creek, and Belfry, where she graduated in 1954.
She and dad, James A. Rangitsch were married November 19, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bridger, Montana. They lived in Bridger, Red Lodge, and then moved to Billings in 1959. Mom was a full-time mother who found time to work for the Billings Catholic Food Services and Sodexo for a total of 29 years.
Mom and dad were active members of Little Flower Church (now known as Mary Queen of Peace) since 1960. During those years mom served on the parish council and served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. She also belonged to CCW and furthered her faith with an adult religious program called Tempus, from which she proudly graduated.
Mom is preceded in death by an infant sister, her parents, our father James, and her youngest child John as well as her sisters Marlene Goad and Violet Zentner and brother Donald Peters.
She is survived by six children, Jackie (Chuck) Belden, James (Sandy), Julie (Dale) Swoboda, Jeanne (Dave) Vogele, Jeff, Jerry (Tammy), her grandchildren Clarence (Brenley) Turner, Jacob (Shishona) Turner, Ray (Chris) Belden, James III (Nicole), Lindsay (Justin) Leigh, Peter Swoboda, Paul Swoboda, Rachel (Alex) Penor, Matt Vogele, Kim (Dustin) Hilliard, Ashlee (Chris) Walker, Jerome Jr., Lexee (Joe) Stahl and Joe.
Mom was blessed to have 15 great grandchildren. Mom always said her greatest accomplishments and love was her entire family and all those that she made feel like family.
Mom LOVED to watch sports, especially when her “kids” played, “GO Broncos”.
Mom wanted to say “God bless you and keep you until we meet again. Love all of you forever.”
Vigil will be held June 30 at 6:00 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
Mass and luncheon will be July 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church.
