Geneva Bruce

Geneva Joyce Bruce, 95, of Laurel, Montana died May 1, 2010 at the Billings Clinic. She was born September 27, 1914 to Forest and Vera (Holland) Thayer in Britton, South Dakota. She married Irvin B. Bruce and had a daughter, Dianne and son, Douglas.She owned a clothing store in Lake City, Washington from 1967 to 1970. Geneva lived in the Everett, Washington area for fifty-five years and raised her family there. She worked at Safeway in Everett, and Monroe Hospital in Monroe, Washington until her retirement in 1979. She was active with the Eastern Star in Laurel, Montana. Her hobbies included sewing, camping, swimming and in her later years, she enjoyed reading. Geneva is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Bushey of Glena, Illinois, and her son, Douglas Bruce of Joliet, Montana, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her oldest sister, Ethel Ellingson, who is 98 years old.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at dahlfuneralchapel.com
