Edward Wambolt

Edward Albert Wambolt was born in a log house in the Hysham Hills on April 4, 1929, to Fred and Pauline (Meuhart) Wambolt. He was the ninth of thirteen children. The family lived on various farms until finally settling in Kensey Valley. Ed worked alongside his dad farming until he met and married Pauline Blye in 1953. Four months later, Ed was called to serve in the U.S. Army. His tour of duty took him to Boudreaux, France. Upon his return to the U.S., he worked at various jobs and eventually went to cooking school; he was a good chef. Later on, he worked at Rimrock Foundation, then Yellowstone County. Ed and Pauline's marriage was blessed with four children: Paula (John) Carstensen, Mark, Julie Haas, and Chris; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In 1984, Ed attended a Cursillo weekend retreat and gained a deeper spiritual life, and also lasting friendships with members of his small Cursillo group. Some of Ed's favorite activities were gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping.
