Obituary
On Wednesday, May 11th Phyllis Catherine (Kate) Fourman Speidel passed away at the age of 95 years old. Kate was born in Twin Township, Darke County, Ohio on November 5th, 1926, to Ray Fourman and Claudine (Weaver) Fourman. She was an avid roller-skater and loved to skate in her teenage years. In 1944, Kate married the love of her life, Clarence (Clancy) Speidel while stationed in Pratt, Kansas during World War II. During World War II, she heeded the call to assist her country by building gliders and firing pins. She was a checker at Van Dykes and at the Buttery store when it opened in the 60s.
In 1952 the two made the decision to move to Billings, Montana, where Clarence was from, bringing along their young daughter Marilyn and soon-to-be-born baby boy Gene. Family, friends, and faith were Kate's most beloved values. Most summer vacations included a trek back home to Ohio for family visits. Kate enjoyed many winters on adventures with Clancy to Arizona, to visit family and go camping. She loved to be outdoors, family get-togethers, camping, fishing, and gardening were her favorite hobbies, enjoying everything with Clancy and family. She will be dearly missed, Kate was loved by everyone who knew her, she loved telling a good story and reminiscing about her stories of love and grandkids.
Kate is preceded in death by her husband Clancy, mother and father, Ray and Claudine, as well as siblings Dick, Doris, Bill, Ellis, and great-grandson Rodney Montoya. Kate is survived by her children Marilyn (Victor) Hinkle, and Gene (Hannah) Speidel as well as grandchildren Tracy Meuli, Kelly (Greg) Sjostrom, Casey Hinkle, Corey (Jana) Hinkle, Stacy (Shane) Harman, Rockwell Hinkle, AJ (Brenda) Speidel, Colt Speidel, and Kindra Speidel as well as four step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren (with a baby girl due any time).
We would like to give a special thank you to granddaughter Tracy for taking care of Mom for the last two years as well as St. Johns United and hospice nurse Katie for their special care.
Viewing will be on Saturday, May 21st from 9-11 am at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on Monday, May 23rd at 2:00 pm.
Memorials may be made in Kate's name to the Ronald McDonald House, 1144 30th St, Billings, MT 59101.

We cherish the life of our dear Aunt Katie, my namesake. She was beautiful and fun and sweet. She will be dearly missed by all. Praying for her family that they will cherish all of the lovely memories of her.

Bill and I enjoy visiting with aunt Kate several years ago in Montana. Dad loved his big sister so much. They talked weekly, and loved teasing each other. She will always be in our heart. Love to you all, Leigh Ann and Bill
