Billee Veach

Billee Rose (Hart) Veach, 79, of Miles City, MT passed away on May 12, 2022, after a long illness. She was born October 2,1942 to William and Mildred Hart in Forsyth, MT. She spent most of her childhood in Forsyth with a short time in California when she was five to eight years old. Billee graduated from Forsyth High School in 1960.

She married the late James Veach in 1961 and moved to Oklahoma where she raised three boys and a girl. She moved back to Forsyth in 1982 when her youngest was seven years old. She is survived by her children James Hart (Forsyth), Max Veach (Chickasha, OK), Michael Veach (Chickasha, OK), and Cindy Anderson (Colorado Springs, CO). She is also survived by her grandchildren (Tera Wold, ND, Amanda Kingery, TX, Jimmee Hart, ND, Benjamin Anderson, CO, Ethan Anderson, CO, Samuel Anderson, CO) and several great-grandchildren and a sister Patsy Hart Brown from Miles City, MT. Billee was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurie Lee (1965).

When Billee was five years old, she was hit by a car on her tricycle in Ventura, California. She was coasting down a sloped driveway and went into the street. She wasn't badly injured, but the local newspaper mentioned the incident and the driver of the car bought her a doll.

Billee was an amazing mother and grandmother. Even as a single mom, we felt her love and sense of abundance continually. She never stopped nurturing her family, and when grandkids came along, she loved to spend time with them, doing crafts, going shopping, cooking, reading, and loving on them. Everyone appreciated her cooking and she loved when people visited, and she could prepare yummy meals for them. Billee liked to laugh, and it was a joy to see how happy she was when her family got together. She loved going shopping and would bring treasures and things to her family that she thought they needed. She was always giving and thinking of others. She sewed and crocheted beautifully and made a lot of her kids' clothes as they grew up. She also made lovely afghans and other crocheted crafts that she gave to her family. And every time a grand baby was born, she would cry when she first laid eyes on them. She treasured every moment she got to spend with them.

Her family and friends could always count on her for help, and she would spend her days working hard to help make others' lives a little easier. She took very good care of her home and one of her favorite sayings that her grandma Bessie taught her was, “A place for everything and everything in its place.”

Although she could type faster than anyone in her high school class, Billee didn't like desk work and after being a stay-at-home mom for many years, began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She took tender care of residents in the Forsyth nursing home as well as in Sheridan, WY, where she lived for 13 years, at Sheridan Manor and later, the hospital.

Billee passed on her appreciation of music and her artistic ability to her kids and grandkids. When she was five and lived in California, she took violin lessons and played Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. When the family moved back to Forsyth the only music lessons her grandma could find for her were on the accordion. She learned to play the accordion as a child and could still play “Amazing Grace” many years later.

Billee was so proud of her family and talked about them all the time. She leaves behind a legacy of love that transcends time. We will feel her influence every day of our lives and can't wait to see her again.

Billee loved nature, and her services will be held graveside at the Forsyth Cemetery, near her childhood home, on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2:00.
