Barbara Anne Fenter, 65, died on Saturday, July 9, 2022, Barbara was born on September 10, 1956, in Billings, Montana, to Howard F. and Anne K. Hoene.
A graduate of Billings Central Catholic High School, Barbara proceeded to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University. Barbara served many years as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital, mainly as a postpartum nurse. She loved caring for mothers and babies. Barbara was married to Keith E. Dahlin on December 28, 1978 and they welcomed three children. Barbara called the magic city home for most of her life, but also lived for a short while in Pocatello, Idaho and Glasgow, Montana. Barbara later married Paul Fenter on September 14, 2007 and they enjoyed many years traveling the country and laughing at all the same jokes.
Barbara loved people and helped others without hesitation whenever she could. She was generous, kind, and had an enthusiasm for living life to the fullest. She was feisty and strong in body and spirit. As a young girl, her siblings remember her bright smile and her fascination with horses, often pretending she was one herself. Ever the optimist, she always saw the good in any situation. Her Catholic Faith was very important to her and a source of strength and joy. She always had a knack for finding beauty and appreciating all the small wonders in life. She enjoyed cooking, running, playing tennis, listening to music, playing piano, watching classic movies, and spending time with family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Howard F. and Anne K. Hoene and sister, Josephine Kuth Hoene and brother, Howard F. Hoene Jr. She is survived by her husband, Paul Fenter, her children Leah (John) Nusse of Bozeman, Eric (Abigail) Dahlin of Bozeman, and Katie Dahlin of San Diego, grandchildren Joseph and Henry Nusse, and Isaac and Quinn Dahlin, and siblings Katherine Hoene, Mary Decker, Mark Hoene, Vera (Mark) Werner, Arthur Hoene, and Lisa Steckel.
The family would like to thank the staff of RiverStone Health Hospice and Dahl Funeral Chapel for their loving care and support.
A Vigil service will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel at 6:00 p.m, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Barbara's funeral service will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022.

Condolences to Barbs and my three wonderful children. To the Hoenes....Bless your hearts. Thankyou Paul for allowing Barb to change her surname. I will not be attending the funeral. To me she has been gone for many, many years. There has been much left unsaid about her. I did say goodbye to her in person at the hospice center. This is the end of a long life chapter

Sincere condolences to Vera, Art and the Hoene Family. We all met many years ago during High School. I look back fondly on that time. Barb and I bumped into each other later as our daughter's played tennis together at Central. I'll always remember Barb's smile and wide eyed enthusiasm. I'm so sad to hear of her passing. Prayers for you all.

Oh sweet Barbie......you were so dang fun to work with. I still tell Barb stories while working. "Every day was Barbs first day," she was so funny and so silly and so quick to laugh. When she was hungry while working, she'd pull a whole baked potato or a piece of fried chicken out of her pocket, take a bite and put it back in her pocket......she cracked me up. I'm so sorry to see that she has passed. My condolences to Paul and her children.
