Mary Buechler

Heaven received an angel when Mary Ann (Ehlenburg) Buechler passed away at her home in Billings surrounded by her loved ones on August 5, 2019. Mary was born in Billings, MT on December 23, 1949 to Margaret Cordelia (Lynd) Ehlenburg and Charles Arthur Ehlenburg. She was raised in Billings with her three brothers and one sister, David, Joseph, Robert and Jean Ehlenburg. Mary graduated from Billings Central and married Gerald Lee Buechler. They lived most of their marriage in Billings with a few moves to Nevada. She obtained a certificate in Early Childhood Development from the Northern Nevada Community College in Elko, NV and subsequently taught in the Head Start programs of Elko and Jackpot, NV and Billings. It didn't matter where she was, though, she was always working with the handicapped, her heart's passion. She not only worked with them, she also enjoyed serving them by volunteering at the Red Lodge Lions Camp. Mary worked at Billings West High as a special-needs aide until her retirement in 2012. She was a dedicated mother to her children, Julie and Miles, who both survive her. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Ehlenburg; three grandchildren, Tressie Goddard, Amanda Kotar and Zachariah Kotar; and seven great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Charles Ehlenburg; brothers, David and Joseph Ehlenburg; sister, Jean Ehlenburg; and infant son, Ross Buechler.
