Obituary
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called to her Heavenly Home on August 19, 2022. Mary Jean Trunkle Lynch was born on January 11, 1932, in Great Falls, MT to Ignatius and Anne Trunkle. She attended the College of Great Falls, and after graduation taught at St. Francis.
On January 22, 1955, she married Charles Russell “Rusty” Lynch, and together they owned and operated Big Sky Gallery and Frame Shop. Mary, a talented artist herself, enjoyed the art business, as well as playing the piano.
As a devout Catholic, Mary was a member of St. Bernard Church and St. Christopher Circle.
Family gatherings and outings were very important to her, and they brought much joy to everyone.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Rusty; son Jim and daughter-in-law Manolita; and sister Marjorie Aline. She is survived by her son Ron (Roxanne); daughter Diane (Tom Cooper); grandchildren Connor, Alexa (Scott), Nathan, Mary, Danielle (Derrick), Kaitlyn, and Callie; brother James Trunkle; sister Helen Hackett; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Friday, September 2nd at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow. A private family gathering for Rite of Committal will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Columbarium.

Dear Diane, Ron and Families, We send our sympathy and condolences upon the passing of your dear mother and grandmother, Mary Jean and sister. We treasure the fun times we had visiting her and Rusty at 31 Heather Dr. Mary Jean was an excellent cook and baker. The coffee pot was always on and cold “brews” in the fridge. She passed on the Slovenian tradition of learning to bake “Potica”, a special treat at Christmas and Easter, to her daughter, granddaughters and a few cousins. (She always added raisins, which I did not). She never missed Mass on Sunday and attended daily Mass after retirement, driving into her late 80’s! Her faith was her anchor throughout her life, attending Catholic school from First Grade through college. She was a life-time member of KSKJ American Slovenian Catholic Union, St. Joseph Lodge No. 69., attending lodge parties and dances in her younger days. (She taught me how to dance the “jitterbug” in our tiny kitchen!) Fun times had at dances in Belt and Burlingame Schoolhouse! You will be sorely missed, Mary Jean. We are very sorry for your loss. Mary and Rusty were such good friends of our parents. Mary was always fun and up beat to visit with. Mary was so kind to our mom, especially in the later years of her life. You guys are in our prayers. Gregg and Patti Dillon

to Sean and Heather and Great Aunt to Archer. We treasure the many fun times we had visiting her and “Rusty” at 31 Heather Dr. The “light was always on”.
Mary Jean was an excellent cook and baker. The coffee pot was always on and cold “brews” in the fridge!
She made sure the Slovenian tradition of baking “Potica” was passed on to her daughter, granddaughters and some cousins. Her’s was “the best”! She loved her Catholic faith, her anchor during her lifetime of 90 years. She attended Catholic school from 1st grade through College. She was Slovenian through and through and was a life-time member of the KSKJ Slovenian Catholic Union, St. Joseph’s Lodge, No. 69. She will be sorely missed.
