Marshall Hankinson

Marshall Dylan Hankinson was born to the proud parents of Mary Jane and Marshall John Hankinson on July 20, 1987, in Sidney, MT. He joined his four siblings as the youngest and was doted on with lots of attention. He got endless piggyback rides, and control of the TV, and was picked on by his sisters and cousins. At age three MD was introduced to Nintendo by his beloved Aunt Lisa, beginning his love for video games. He got much recognition by being able to defeat almost everybody he played at the age of 10. He enjoyed all games and would remain an avid player sharing his love for them with friends, his brother, nephews, cousins, and son. Marshall D attended school in multiple towns, but it would be in Billings, MT where he would make many lifetime friends. He also learned to skateboard and continued to skateboard for the rest of his life. It wouldn't be uncommon to see him skateboarding. In times of sadness, frustration, or needing to think he would say, “I'm just going to skate it out.” Marshall Dylan was influential in his nephews' and nieces' lives. He shared his enthusiasm for WWE wrestling with all of them. It wasn't uncommon for him to facilitate the main event complete with couch cushions, tag teams, and a WWE title belt. He taught them to not take grief from anyone and to brace themselves for a cruel world.

MD and Aja McCullough became high school sweethearts in February of 2002. They were blessed with Marshall Valo Hankinson on June 9 ,2007, with the middle name as a nod to their favorite band H.I.M. and singer Ville Valo. The father-son duo shared many common interests: video games, picky eating habits, love for blocks of cheese, taste in style, playing guitar, and music. He was his son's biggest fan in soccer, basketball, and middle school wrestling. He encouraged his son to be himself, and not to care about what others think. Aja and Marshall entered marriage on September 18, 2010, at Riverfront Park. It was a small private affair attended by family and close friends. He appreciated Aja for also being a fellow gamer and music lover. Together the two hung out with family and friends, played guitar, and raised their son Valo. The small family's favorite place was Chico Hot Springs, MT to lounge in the hot water. Unfortunately, the relationship of 16 years and marriage of 8 came to an end on December 18, 2018.

Marshall Dylan fast-tracked his life by passing his education to join the workforce. He began his working career as a cook for IHOP. He followed in the footsteps of his father and Uncle Leonard entering the oil field. His employment with Cyclone Drilling taught him hard work. He left the oil field and became a foam insulator for Billings Insulation where he was currently employed. No matter the job, he took pride in what he did.

MD's life wouldn't be complete without mentioning his on-again-off-again girlfriend Christina's Siewert and her two boys. He was a father figure to both boys and they both looked up to him. The four enjoyed swimming, playing games, and BBQing with family and friends. Together he would skateboard, and she would ride her bike.

Marshall D will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him! He was loved and liked by everyone he encountered. He leaves behind a son Marshall Valo Hankinson, parents Mary and Marshall Hankinson, brothers Mark and Adrian Riojas, sisters Genita (Joe) Boroughs and Reaianna (Mike), and numerous nephews and nieces. He began his venture to heaven on September 5, 2022. We know this is not goodbye, but till we meet again. We love you.
