Obituary
Mary E. Oglesby of Peerless, MT, passed away on October 6, 2022, at the age of 81, after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Kansas to Joseph H. and Zeolah Q. Barnhart and married Steve R. Oglesby on September 17, 1971. She was a registered nurse who worked for many years at Daniels Memorial Hospital in Scobey, MT. After retirement, she and Steve split their time between their farm outside Peerless and their winter home in Arizona.
Mary spent her life in the service of others, as a church missionary prior to marriage, as a dedicated nurse, farming with her husband, and as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Steve and Mary were members at Joy Fellowship Church in Glasgow, MT for many years and more recently attended Scobey Alliance Church.
Mary loved being a nurse and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed music and was always humming or singing at home. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and puzzles. She was rarely without a word search book, and her Bible was always next to her favorite chair. Mary enjoyed sending cards and letters, exchanging letters regularly with her sisters, and sending birthday cards to family members.
Mary is survived by her husband Steve; her daughters Zeolah Oglesby and Camille Romail (Babar); three granddaughters; her sisters Ann Vannoster, Ellen (Chuck) Howard, Judy (Michael) Grove; her sister-in-law Sandra Barnhart; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Charles, Edward, and Howard Barnhart; sister-in-law Alice Barnhart; and brother-in-law Fred Vannoster.
No local service is planned in Montana. Her family will hold a celebration of life in Kansas next year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice in her memory.
