Ian, Seana, and other family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I was just thinking of Valerie and you guys the other day. I always enjoyed when your mother had a few extra minutes before leaving for work and we had the opportunity to chat. We shared a love of literature (I read How Green Was My Valley simply because she said it was her favorite), and she was brilliant. And she loved the Beatles, which didn’t hurt things any, either. I felt a deep kinship, and loved that the bookcases were so predominant in your home. But mostly, I remember how hard she worked to provide for the two of you. And how she biked— even in winter— to her overnight job at the Post Office, leaving the car sitting idle in the driveway unless the roads were simply too bad. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Valerie may have been quiet, but she was a force of nature, nonetheless.

Val was such a busy person at the PO. Yet, you knew you could flag her down with a question or for a visit and she would be happy to talk with you. She was a wealth of knowledge! My deepest condolences to your family. You’re in my prayers.

Playing monopoly with her and Ron one Saturday. Val and Rich both being so competitive, she looks over at Rich and says: I never met a man as smart as me, needless to say, Rich was dumbfounded and just looked at her, we all laughed, as Rich took on championship. Well, Bal was not impressed and challenged him to scrabble, that never happened, as we all knew quite well she was a master in her language and spelling. The challenge never took place. She will be missed . ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

To Val's family, My conversations with Val were usually in the morning, in the break room. She was quick to smile and interesting to talk with. Being a mail carrier, I got to know Shauna at work and Ron and Deanna when delivering their mail! Thinking of you at this sad time for the family. Lani Easton
