Charles Hauptman

Charles P. “Pat” Hauptman, 78, died March 16, 2023, in Glendive, Montana of natural causes.

The oldest of seven children, he was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 12, 1944, to Charles and Anne Hauptman. After moving to Billings in 1951, he attended Fratt School and graduated from Billings Central High in the class of 1962. After high school, he served four years in the Navy during the Viet Nam era. His service was a great source of pride to him. He was a talented chess and bridge player and had a great ability with numbers.

Preceding him in death were his brother, Dick, and his parents. Survivors include brothers Jim (Linda), John (Linda), Tom (Kim) and sisters Leila (Dean) and Anne (Brian), and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services are scheduled for a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Montana Rescue Mission or the charity of one's choice.
