Robert Haraden

I was blessed with working with and becoming friends with several good superintendents - first of which was Bob. He encouraged me to apply for the Acadia Chief of Maintenance position saying that he felt sorry for any kid who did not grow up in Bar Harbor. My work library included a number of engineering books that Bob gave me when he retired - one of them allowed me to interpret a historic paving method we uncovered during Acadia Loop Road work. I also met Bob's mother and brother when we moved to Mount Desert Island - good folks all who also had a long life span. It was comforting to think of Bob and Adelaide enjoying their retirement - I will miss them. Jim Vekasi
