William Conway

In 1993, I joined the family by marriage to Bill's niece. He took me and my father-in-law over to the Briarwood. That was a beautiful course and it was always a good time telling and listening to stories. On the rare returns to Billings, I always felt welcome at Linda and Bill's house. I liked Bill and glad I have those memories.

I started working at Ryans in 1973 changing to SUPERVALU in 1980. I worked as a buyer under Bill and worked with him for many years. Not only did I work with Bill but we also played softball together. We had lots of fun both at work and Ryan Fishing trips on the Boulder. I got out of buying and went into distribution but still worked with Bill in lots of areas of the business. How he ever put up with the likes of me and Greg VonEchen and Jerry Olson I don't know. I will always remember Retailer Golf outing in Cody where Bill and I probably kept Jerry and Greg from an untimely demise at the Cowboy Bar in Cody. I loved my time spent with Bill and getting to know Linda and Kirsten and Katie. Bill we all will miss you. Your friend and coworker, Scotty Armstrong
