Virginia McDonald

Virginia “Ginny” McDonald, 90, peacefully went to her home in heaven after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ginny was born in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on May 25, 1932, to Arthur & Violet Hardt. She was the first born of 8 children.

Ginny was the Queen of Hospitality, which included meticulous presentation of gourmet food for the purpose of delighting others and shared conversation. She lived to cook. Famous for her canning skills she was relentless to produce one more batch of pickles to accompany her room full of jellies up to two weeks before her home-going. Without question culinary art was her legacy.

Ginny may be considered as “The Mayor” of Grand Peaks since her home was strategically positioned as a focal point for dog-walkers, as well as being in the know of everything going on in the neighborhood. She was blessed to end her life on this side of heaven in her own home, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter Denice (Marc) Johnson of Billings, her son David (Dana) Gabrielse of Ft. Worth, Texas, her son Dirk (Michelle) McDonald of Greenville, South Carolina, as well as siblings, Ken “Skip” Hardt, Betty (Gerry) Payne, and Linda Arends. Ginny was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Dave, her daughter Debra Ann, her son, Dean Alan, and grandson, Nauveau.
