Maxine Manni

Maxine Eva (Petie) Manni left this world on May 5 to join her loving husband Jake and son Dan. She leaves behind a son Tom and a daughter Lori. Simple words cannot describe how fortunate we have been to have the most fabulous mother us for nearing 66 and 64 years.

Mom was born in Callaway Minnesota, on March 22, 1931, to Jim and Esther McArthur. She moved around a lot during her early years with moves to Washington, back to Callaway, Bismarck Saint Xavier, and finally graduating high school in Hardin in 1949. Mom attained a nursing degree from Carrol College and pursued her career at St. Vincent's Hospital. Dad and Mom married on October 16, 1953, and had 3 children, Dan, Tom, and Lori.

Mom was the most fun to grow up with as her willingness to do anything to keep us from fighting is legendary. While we were in Great Falls (coldest winter ever) she would play goalie for Dan and I on the ice rink that Dad built in the backyard. Mom and Dad followed us everywhere, attending every sporting event in which we competed. In later years Mom and Dad could be seen at Stewart Park following all our softball games.

Thank goodness for Lori as she gave the folks two wonderful grandchildren, Michelle, and Sean. Mom absolutely loved her time with her grandchildren and babysitting them whenever she could.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, husband Jake, sister Naoma (Corky), brother-in-law Jim Hyde (Buck), Paul and Mary Manni, and son Dan.

Mom is survived by her children Tom, Lori Kautz (Robert), grandchildren Michelle (Wendy) Kautz-Wheeler, and Sean Kautz. Brother Joe (Linda) McArthur and their children Paul, Deonn (Dale) Brown and Jeff (Jennifer) McArthur. Nephews Jim (Marilyn) Hyde, Dave (Jeanne) Hyde, and Bob (Donna) Marler. Her great grandchildren Bella, Violette, and Sawyer. And lastly all her surviving friends.

A graveside service will be held for Mom on May 18th at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1601 Mullowney Ln, Billings, MT 59101, at 2 pm. Dan will be interred on the same day. Following the service, a reception will be held at Tiny's Tavern located at 323 N 24th St, Billings, MT 59101.
