Meeting Roger on March of 1972 set my life on a forever path. He was in the company of two other persons inviting me to a Bahai event. They had been out all day trying to connect with people in my neighborhood. Mine was the last one left to go. I asked about Bahai and upon having my question answered, let them know that this was the answer I had been waiting a lifetime to hear. I joined Immediately. Roger and Patrice kept returning to my home over and over again to strengthen my fragile condition. I am eternally grateful for the sacrifice. I am happy that he is soaring in the heavenly realm freed from the confines of this world.

Dear Beloved Family of Roger. We met your father during our nightly Devotionals. Despite often being in pain, he always conveyed a generous and loving spirit. His positivity was most admirable. Roger was especially proud of his grandson who he always referred to as Robin Elliot. We are very sorry for your loss, but truly believe his spirit is now with God. With much Baha’i love, Heather & Max

Roger Olsen was a very dear friend to me and I have some fond memories of him. I met him when I was 10 years old at a Baha'i counsel fire where he and many others performed. Shortly after that Roger and his wife, Patrice came to live with us for a short while. Mohajer was just a baby and age as my youngest brother. I used to help out him to sleep and care for them both. My fondness memories of Roger are at sumner school in Eastern Washington and listening to him play guitar and sing. My favorite a as kid was 'Plant a Watermelon Over My Grave and Let the Juice Slip Through' or Warriors of the Rainbow'. But my all time favorite was when he sang harmony with a man with a low baritone voice singing Amazing Grace. I kept in contact with him over the years and he sang at my mom's funeral which was so special. We also shared the same birthday. I have one or two of his music books so I guess this means picking up my guitar again to play tribute to Roger's memory. Cindy Barrett
