Obituary
Kyle Eugene Myhre, born on November 23, 1965, in Wolf Point, MT, passed away in Billings, MT, on May 14, 2024. He was the beloved son of Marilyn Myhre and brother to Keith, Kevin, and Kent Myhre.
Kyle spent his childhood and youth in Scobey, MT, graduating from Scobey High School in 1984. After a year at Montana State University, he moved to Melbourne and West Palm Beach, FL. In 1987, he returned to Scobey and purchased the Ponderosa Bar and Cafe. He became a father to Kirsten in 1989 and Kole in 1992. In 1994, Kyle moved to Billings, where he spent the rest of his life with his wife and the love of his life, Sheila. They married in 1998 and welcomed their daughters, Jenna in 2000 and Holly in 2003.
Kyle explored various careers, including bar and cafe ownership, photography, and jewelry making. His outgoing personality and natural charisma led to a successful stint as an Insurance Salesman at Mutual of Omaha, where he was one of the top salespeople for three consecutive years. Eventually, he found his true passion in food and cooking, spending twenty years as a Food Broker. He assisted cooks, restaurateurs, universities, and hospital kitchens in sourcing, prepping, and cooking the best food. He would also moonlight as the family's personal chef during any sort of holiday or family gathering. Kyle also enjoyed flying planes in his younger years and recently took pride in perfecting his lawn and garden and maintaining the hot tub.
A self-professed Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders fan, Kyle had a love-hate relationship with the team, a testament to his loyalty that began during the Al Davis era. He was also a dedicated Montana State Bobcats fan, often seen wearing Bobcat or Raider insignia and cheering them on with family and friends.
Family was always Kyle's top priority. He attended every sporting event, school concert, and after-school program he could, always with a camera in hand to capture precious moments. He cherished family time, whether it was attending events, watching movies at home, or enjoying naps on the couch. Kyle also loved concerts, traveling, and camping, often planning annual vacations to places like Florida, Las Vegas, Oregon, and Northern California.
Kyle, the most loving husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife of 26 years Sheila; children Kirsten (Gehrig), Kole, Jenna, and Holly; brothers Keith (Melody), Kevin (Suzanne), and Kent; and granddaughter, Barrett. Kyle was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on May 31, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 226 Wicks Lane, Billings, MT. A luncheon will follow the service.
