Sylvie was a good friend and mentor to me at St Johns. I was her ADON and a nurse manager for her. She was an incredible leader and a good judge of people's character and could read a room like no other. I learned a lot about leadership watched Sylvia work and she had a special love for the residents she was charged with caring for. She will always hold a special place in my heart and St Johns was blessed to have her lead the nursing department with grace, finesse, love and devotion the many years she served in that sacred ministry. She was the best. Period.

Sylvia and I became closer student nurse friends when we traveled from our psychiatric rotation at Warm Springs to Great Falls so she could visit her fiancee David and I visited a Friend Shelley at the college. We kept in touch and her daughter Nichole was our flower girl when Roger and I got married July 22,1973. RIP DEAR FRIEND. Theresia (Johannsen) Yeager.

Sylvia was an exceptional woman. I remember the first day that she came to work at St. John's. She said she had to go to work to pay for a hot tub. That was not to be. Sylvia was such a a gift and a blessing to many, many people. She gave many years of blood, sweat and tears to St. John's, and gave so many wonderful memories. She was a great friend and mentor. Some people leave an imprint on our hearts so deep that their presence is never truly gone. Sylvia was one of those rare and remarkable souls. Her compassion knew no bounds, her wisdom lifted others, and her example inspired excellence in all who had the privilege of working alongside her. I was one of those privileged ones. Rest easy, dear Sylvie. Your legacy of love, leadership, and laughter will never be forgotten. 💙

I will always remember Sylvia for her grace, beauty and elegance. She was a true friend as well as a mentor. My favorite memory is how she would lower her glasses on her nose when she had to be firm. I can’t say I actually was on the receiving end, okay maybe once, but that was because she set the bar high for patient care. Sylvia, I will forever remember your kindness. Rest in peace beautiful lady.
