Obituary

Bryon Matthew Gstohl was born on March 24th, 1965. To Laurel and Florence Gstohl in Red Lodge, Montana. Bryon grew up in Livingston and had 6 siblings: Earl Gstohl, Gary Gstohl, Linda Gstohl, Laura Gstohl Berens, Lois Gstohl Sevier, and Brenda Gstohl Sapp. Bryon graduated high school from Park High in 1983 in Livingston, Montana and later moved back to Billings, where he worked for Baker Transfer and Storage from May 1, 1991, until his unexpected passing on May 15, 2026. Bryon met and later married Shirley Davis on July 6, 1996, until their divorce in 2005.

They have 2 sons who meant the world to him: Jacob Matthew Gstohl and Tyler William Gstohl, as well as two grandchildren who were also his world: Kasey Matthew Gstohl and Kaitlyn Amaryllis Gstohl.

Bryon loved spending time with his sons, Jake and Tyler, hunting, fishing, camping, going to car shows or just being together with their sister Molly for birthdays and other special occasions.

Bryon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, as well as his long-time friends Larry Kossman, Norman Caylon, Bryan Armstrong, Scott Hilliard, and Dean and Daryll Emmick.

Bryon is survived by his sons Jake and Tyler and their sister Molly. His grandchildren, Kasey and Kaitlyn. Bryon’s sisters, Linda Gstohl, Laura Gstohl (Craig) Berens, Lois Gstohl (Allen) Sevier, and Brenda Gstohl Sapp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bryon is preceded in death by his parents, Laurel and Florence Gstohl, and his two brothers, Earl and Gary Gstohl.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Life on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Ave, Billings, Montana, with a reception to follow. Please feel free to dress casually.
