I'm the St. Patrick's bus coordinator. I've worked with Roberto for years. The last time he drove Roberto apologized for being late. That didn't bother me as I'm one he usually picks up last anyway. He told me that he kind of wished he stayed in bed that morning because he had a bad headache. I didn't know that was the last conversation we'd have. Roberto was a great man who loved God and his family. He was a great driver although some of the passengers were a challenge. He was telling me that fateful morning he loved an elderly resident at Billings health an Rehab even though she'd occasionally hit him. That was him. Roberto was loving and kind to all of us. I pray for God healing for Nina, Julia and Thomas. Thank you for everything Roberto!

I am a CPA in Miles City, a classmate of Roberto's at "Eastern," and a Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He never missed an opportunity to kid me a bit about the rivalry between "His Miami team" and my Huskers. He was such a good a decent man and he will be missed by all of us who dealt with him through our clients over the years. He was always fair and tried to work with people through their tax difficulties. He was never the "enemy" he was the cheerleader saying, "Now work with me. Together we can make this happen." And, I will remember fondly the way he bounced in for coffee whenever he was in town. Personally, I will miss my friend. He died too soon. I extend my deepest condolences to the family. Respectfully, Mary L Partridge, CPA

Infectious laugh is right. My whole family is heart broken, for Robert, Nina, Julia, and Thomas. It's so common to see exaggerations, or outright mischaracterizations, during times like these. I have NEVER met a more friendly person than Robert. More often than not, I would hear his hilarious, high pitched, and heartfelt laughter, long before I even saw him, and realized that we were in the same area. He was just so damn happy, that he couldn't help but brighten my day. I remember a softball game, where it was 100 degrees, when the first pitch was thrown, and Robert was behind the plate and umpiring. He appeared to actually be melting, in his dark blue outfit, and shoulder and chest pads; and was drinking a blue gatorade in between every single inning, to keep from passing out. Far from complaining, as I would hand him his next bottle in between innings, he would throw out the most random observation, and literally laugh until he cried. THAT, was Robert. The countless hours that he spent volunteering, umpiring at games, and driving the St. Patrick's bus, were a true measure of man that he was. God's speed, Robert.

My heart is broken to hear that Roberto left this earth so early. I worked with him at the IRS and I know how much he loved his family and loved being involved in his children's activities. Hugs to Nina and the whole family.

Happy is exactly the description for Robert. He and Nina would stroll by the house and stop to chat...and that would then turn into an event! Talking about kids, laughing about shared experiences and waxing philosophically about the future. Robert was genuinely interested in everyone and wished the best for all. We will miss that laugh, that eternal optimism, that goofiness, and most of all, we will miss that heart. Nina, Julia and Thomas - let the love of God heal your hearts and the memories of this exceptional husband, father and friend lift your spirits.
