Larry was always a warm hearted guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He will be sorely missed. Ally Gierke.

To the Mackney Family, So sorry to hear of Larrys passing. I was young but I do remember what a kind hearted, good soul he was. His smile and that laugh was the greatest. He was tough with horses, they knew who the boss was when he was around. Dad always enjoyed his company, may have teased him a time or two but is was from the heart. May he rest in peace and be your guardian angel. Jill Winfield-Mosure & Jay Winfield

Dear Shirley and Family, I would like to be able to attend the service for Larry and to let you know personally how sorry I am for this terrible loss. I will be in the Canadian Rockies with my daughter and unable to get to Billings but I will be thinking of you, and Larry, and your parents. I have many fond memories of all of you, and of good days at the farm on Sheffield Road. I even remember the Paragon school, and your mom's willingness to patch and mend my dad's coveralls - an unending task as he was always into something. My dad, Frank Mathers, adored Larry and loved that he could brag about Larry's athletic feats as if he were his own son. He enjoyed the hours they spent horseback together in the winter and putting up hay in the summer. Dad recognized Larry as a gifted athlete and a good person. His pride in Larry continued throughout his own life. I regret that we didn't stay in contact but I hope you know that Larry made a lasting impression on me and my family. With deep sympathy, Jenny Mathers Heuck

So incredibly sorry to hear about Larry. He made a tremendous impression on me as a kid growing up. We hunted the Mathers Ranch and spent considerable time at the Brunn table listening to stories and enjoying good company. As an athlete he was powerful, always humble and I believe he was a State Champ wrestler. Haven't seen him for a lot of years but I know he had a lot of friends from Miles City. One of the nicest guys I ever knew. I wish your family peace and prayers
