Obituary

With great sadness we announce the passing of Celia Doris Krueger Lambrecht Chynoweth at age 92 in Bozeman, Montana.

She was the ninth child born to Edward and May Krueger and raised in Carlisle MT following: Helen, Elmer (Bob), Edna, Oscar, Iray, Arthur, Walter and Bennie. She graduated from Wibaux County High School in 1948.

Celia married Leonard Lambrecht in Billings MT where they raised five daughters: Doris, Bonnie, Teresa, Gail and Karen. After Leonard passed away, she met and married Lloyd Chynoweth. Following Lloyd's retirement, they moved to Manila UT and then to Page AZ. Celia later relocated to Cottonwood AZ where she lived for many years then returned to Montana in 2019 settling in Bozeman MT.

Mom enjoyed bowling, card and bingo games, being outdoors, gardening, golfing and fishing. She was a private, intelligent and independent woman who encouraged her daughters to be all they could be. She attended graduations, weddings, Krueger 9 reunions and milestone birthday celebrations. She was wherever we needed her to be, whether it was a summer in humid Virginia or a year in Feucherolle, France. She will be dearly missed.

Celia was preceded in death by her Parents, Edward J Krueger and May B (Williams) Krueger; Siblings: Helen Schmidt (Frederick), Elmer (Bob) Krueger (Phyllis), Edna Knudson (Clinton), Oscar Krueger, Iray Krueger (Virginia), Arthur Krueger (Neva), Walter Krueger (Leona), Bennie Krueger (Dolores); Spouses: Leonard C Lambrecht and Lloyd G Chynoweth and Son-in-law: Roy Sipes.

She leaves behind Daughters: Doris Rupprecht (Tom), Bonnie Hames (George), Teresa Lambrecht, Gail Lambrecht (Billy Williams) and Karen Schmidt (Edward); Grandchildren: Molly Hames Fox (Kyle), Kyle Rupprecht (Emily), Erik Rupprecht, Courtney Sipes, Lindsey Sipes, Gregor Schmidt, Dawkin Schmidt, and Tucker Schmidt; Great grandchildren: Jonny Rupprecht, Cristian Fox, Paisley Fears, Maelyn Maupin, Noah Rupprecht and Beckett Blomberg; Numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews

At her request no funeral services are planned. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.

Sad times that the last of those Krueger kids have passed away. Even though I didn't personally get to know my Aunt I have gotten to know her daughter Doris. The two of us like to share stories of my father Walter, Celia's brother, and Celia from Doris. Celia, you produce a very talented daughter I am very grateful for getting to know you through her. Rest in Peace, Debbie Krueger.

After Mama had lived in Cottonwood for several years, Bonnie mentioned she would be unavailable to visit Mama on her birthday. She asked if any of us would be able to do that. I made my move! From that point on I endeavored to be in Cottonwood three times a year every year for popular non-Holidays -- St. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and her birthday in November. I loved every part of those adventures, particularly seeing Mama waiting at the door for my arrival -- even at 2am. (It always reminded me of late nights in our high school years, when Mama would be "up drinking tea" regardless of the hour we got home). In addition to the long and short lists of chores Mama wanted to complete during every visit, I enjoyed trying to cook meals she would like (not just cookies, cakes and pies), and chart out an adventure where two old ladies could get in and out before needing a nap. Despite Mama insisting she had been everywhere and seen everything, we still managed to find a few local restaurants, an exotic greenhouse that grew both native and rare plants, and even the new handicapped-access ramp to Tuzigoot National Monument. These trips were always full of relaxing periods in the community garden, visits with other residents, and the challenge to get Mama to watch a movie. One time she actually requested the movie "Three Billboards" which was very dramatic and full of treachery. We liked it so much we hoped there would be a sequel! Another time we watched "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" as we tried to remember the sequence of events in the Millenium series by Stieg Larsson.

I remember spending a lot of time at your house playing with Gail and Karen as we lived down the street. Your mom was always busy with something, usually yard work but sometimes baking cookies which was awesome if my timing was right. I could tell even at a young age she was a witty, smart woman who suffered no fools which certainly kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed catching up with her at the family reunion in Red Lodge. I'm sorry for your loss. Sending hugs to all of you! Janet Hedges
