Patricia Ann “Pat” Kelly

April 10, 1943 – May 25, 2025

Patricia Ann “Pat” Kelly went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025, in Billings, Montana. Born on April 10, 1943, in Roundup, Montana, she was the beloved daughter of Oliver and Rose Kelly.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Pat’s deep Christian beliefs were the guiding light of her life. Her faith shaped her character—filled with kindness, compassion, and grace—and gave her strength during many health challenges. Her unwavering trust in God inspired all who knew her and offered quiet encouragement to many.

Pat graduated from Roundup High School in 1961. She treasured the lifelong friendships formed there, particularly with classmates Karen Langsather, Betty Stoner, Sandy Ottman, and Sandy Geiger, with whom she shared countless memories over the years.

After high school, Pat began a 26-year career in accounting and administrative services, working in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Upon returning to Montana, she dedicated herself to advocacy, championing support for individuals with mental illness and fibromyalgia. Her commitment included 12 years of service on the Mental Health Association Board of Directors.

Pat also nurtured her love for people through bible study groups, reading, and music—activities that reflected her generous spirit and thoughtful heart.

For the last 17 years, Pat lived at Autumn Springs Assisted Living, where she formed deep connections and lasting friendships. Five years ago, she met Jack Martinell, who became her close and cherished friend. Jack brought joy and light into Pat’s life, offering steady companionship and comfort and was by her side when she passed.

Pat is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” (Ardyce) Kelly; nieces, Laura (Les) Sherrill of Kailua, Hawaii, and Lana (Jay) Deeney of Billings, Montana; several cousins; her dear friend Jack Martinell; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Rose Kelly, and her sons, Michael (who died at birth) and Gregory Fanyak.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the team at Stillwater Hospice, the dedicated professionals at Billings Clinic, the compassionate staff at Autumn Springs Assisted Living, and the many friends—especially Helen Hein—who supported Pat through her illness with unwavering kindness and care.
