Henry Messner
June 08, 1935 - April 20, 2025
Obituary
It is with a heavy heart, and a silent thankful prayer, that I share that my father Henry Messner, has gone to Heaven to meet Jesus. He passed peacefully on Easter Sunday morning. After being diagnosed with Terminal Cancer in early March of this year, he had fought the good fight and got his wish to go meet his Savior.
Even though I know he is in a better place, I can't begin to imagine life without him. He was my friend, my fishing and hunting partner, my go-to guy when I needed help, and my guiding light. The last several years as dementia and the recent extensive lung cancer set in, he became my Ward, my blessing and heartache, yet he still tried to guide and comfort me.
He read the Bible first thing in the morning and just before bed. He would then say his prayers for family, friends, for our country. He was a man of great courage and conviction. He loved America fiercely and served 23 years in service to his country.
Real heroes don't need attention, they don't wear capes or have superpowers. They can't leap tall buildings or stop speeding trains. What they can do is be there (always), lend an ear, provide unconditional love, take on whatever it takes to help loved ones and/or country and not expect anything in return. Show the ones you love that they are the true heroes in your life. Henry Messner, Rest in Peace: Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend, Patriot, Defender for our Freedom, a TRUE American Hero…6/8/1935-4/20/2025.
Henry is survived by son Lonnie (Toni) Messner, daughter Sandy Marquart, brother Joe (Darla) Messner, sister Ann (Keith) Lassila, grandchildren, Kayla (Messner) Jones and husband Eli, Ashley Messner, Justin Marquart, Jeremy Marquart, Joshua Marquart, great grandchildren, Trey Nardella, Kylee Jones, Wyatt Jones, Emmett Messner, Colten Marquart, Avery Marquart, Jamisyn Marquart, Noah Marquart, and numerous nephews and nieces, as well as their children.
Henry is preceded in death by father George, mother Julianna, brother George Messner, sister Mary Krikorian, sister Elizabeth Melikan, brother William “Bill” Messner, brother John Messner, Great Grandchild Ryen Messner.

To all of Mr. Messner's family and friends, I offer my sincerest sympathy and heartfelt condolences. I did not have the honor of meeting him, but through his beloved daughter, Sandy, I felt like I knew him. I trust he knew how much he was loved and admired. Rest easy, sir and thank you for your service and patriotism to this great country.
